Hello Briar Vista Eagles!
My name is Mrs. Carr and I am thrilled to join the BVE team as your new School Counselor! This is my 12th year as a school counselor.  Previously, I taught 1st grade for 7 years. Before becoming an educator, I worked for DFCS in Child Protection. I attended college at University of Georgia where I earned a Bachelor and Master of Social Work. I returned to UGA to earn my Education Specialist in Professional School Counseling. GO DAWGS!

Helping children and their families is my passion, and I am so thankful to be part of your village. This year we are going to learn about feelings, friendships, and keeping ourselves safe. I will be teaching SEL (Social Emotional Learning) for Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades.  I will be supporting Mr. Patrick, our part-time counselor, as he continues to work with grades 3-5.  We are here to support your students’ growth socially, emotionally, and academically. I am looking forward to getting to know your children and families!

When I am not at school, you can find me outside! I love nature - which means I love hiking, camping, kayaking, and chasing waterfalls. On school breaks, I am usually traveling to someplace warm and with a beach! I also enjoy creating art, photography, and trying new cuisines.
